In the technical blurb for my new saddle it states the maximum clamp width at the rails is 38-40mm. My seat post is about 25mm where it clamps down on the rails. Is anyone using such a smaller clamping area? Will I die?

It’s less than the maximum, and there is no minimum…

My thoughts exactly! But why specify a maximum and not a minimum? Surely the narrow clamp would lead to a greater leverage on the rails when you are sat on the saddle?

Anyway I’ll just shut up
