Up for sale are my 209 RS Coil Totems. They have a 1 1/8th steerer, straight NOT tapered, which is cut to 205mm and has a star nut fitted. They currently have the extra firm spring fitted (black) rated for riders over 90kg, but I also have a regular firm spring (blue) which suits from about 80kg up to 95kg. This is included in the sale. This model has the ‘Mission Control’ damping, providing high and low speed compression settings, a lockout with adjustable threshold and rebound adjuster.
Also included in the sale will be the original service kit that includes the syringes you need to add fresh lube to the speed ports at the bottom of the fork.
They are in immaculate condition, barely a mark on the lowers and the crown and nothing on the stanchions themselves. They were serviced by TF Tuned about a year ago but have not been used since then, they’ve just been sat in my garage.
When I had them serviced I had new seals put in and I also had the travel reduced to 170mm. This was because the bike I intended to use them on was only warranted for that amount of travel. It’s an imperceptible difference in terms of performance, but I didn’t want to compromise the frame or the warranty in any way, so I had them adjusted. It’s a one way process, but it was professionally done. I have the receipt from TF to prove this (as well as the service), but you will have to take my word for the fact that they’ve not ever been used since the work was carried out.
They were used relatively lightly before this service; I bought them new in 2009 and put them on my DH bike but my son was born in the August of that year and consequently I only managed to get out on the DH bike maybe half a dozen times before I decided the sell that bike and just concentrate on trail riding. I sold the DH frame but thought I would keep the Totems and use them for occasional DH use on my all mountain bike, hence why I had the travel reduced. But the performance of the BOS Deville I’ve since put on is so good that I just don’t need the Totem (not to mention my opportunities for DH riding a still limited to maybe once a year at best!)
