Had nothing but trouble with my revelations, now they need new wiper seals.
I don't want to go for rockshox ones again if I can help it.

Are there any after market companies which do better quality seals?

Also anyone here with experience of cracking a set open yourself?
A job I can do myself? Any special tools needed?

Not to be a big fanboy but I've had 3 sets of Revs and none of them's had any seals issues, never really heard of anyone else having that either. My oldest set's never been serviced at all and still going strong  Obviously you've had enough go wrong to be justifiably annoyed but I wouldn't write the standard parts off completely, everything I've seen says they're generally rock solid reliable

2 friends and I bought pikes in 2006. The sets which got RS seals are still good, the set with enduro seals have no anodizing.

I appreciate this is not a big sample.

Easy to change, see tech manuals on Rockshox site.

I may be wrong, but I thought that the enduro seals do not have the foam rings (they still have the oil seals though). This may explain slw's experience and a friend who used the enduro seals on a set of Fox 32s.
