    Anyone know much about these?

Building up an Inbred for my wife and after looking at LOTS of 2nd hand stuff I’m beginning to think that either of the above might be a better idea with them being new, covered by warranty, no nasty surprises etc.

    Recon £130 v XC32 £100

silvers are quite heavy ,if you could stretch to golds they are a lot lighter

I’ve just bought a pair of XC32 29ers off On One, I assume they’re the ones your talking about. For the price I can’t fault them. Only had one ride so far, but they’re great.

Not tried the newer recons but had some older coil ones that were nice.

Obviously there are better forks out there but not for £99.99 brand spanking new!

They look really nice as well. nice coating on the stanchions.

It’s not cool to say that cheap MTB stuff is good though is it!?!

I believe the XC32 can’t be serviced half as easily as the Recons – and they’re slightly heavier.

i’ve got both, there’s not a lot of difference really…

recon forks have the option of aluminium stanchions, and thru-axles.

But if you’re comparing QR ‘silver’ recons, with XC32 forks, then you’re comparing 2 rockshox forks that both have:

    very good build quality.
    32mm steel stanchions.
    QR dropouts.
TK damping (which is really rather good).

it can be harder to find solo-air XC32’s, i struggled and ended up with the coil version.

    flip a coin?

or, if it’s relevant, get the one that doesn’t have v-brake bosses, they look a bit cooler.

Where can you get Recons new for £130? Air or coil?

I’m looking for some air Recons

Well, i think I’m sold on the XC32 based on the owners above.

It is meant to be a budget build and its far too easy to keep looking at the next model up with everything I’ve bought.

Sounds like there’s not too much difference with the Silver Recon V XC32….unless I went for the Golds, but then where do I stop!!??

    Thanks for the replies guys

preload, rebound and a lock out

Where can you get Recons new for £130? Air or coil?

Solo Air 29er’s are £159 at On One. The XC32’s are £99.99 coil though.

If your wife is light (weight) you’re better off paying the extra for solo air forks. The springs in the Recons will be too stiff for her weight. Recon gold solo air are great if you can find offers on them.
