Hello all, looking at some forks for a hadrtail and want 140mm max. I can get a set of Pike 160/130’s is it possible to change the airshaft to give 140/110 travel

    Cheers

I had some lowered to 150/120 by 18 Bikes

It’s possible but not as straightforward as solo air single position Pikes, basically due to limited range of donor airshafts.

While I’ve not ridden a travel-adjust Rockshox fork since the old Pike 454, I’ve read more than a few riders over the years complaining that the feel of the forks isn’t quite as smooth as the single position, so I’d be tempted to research this and if possible ride examples before committing such money. Do you really need dual position forks? My old Talas 36’s spent nearly their entire life in the middle position.

You don’t say wheel size but 150mm is as low as you can go with oem parts. You’d need to cut the shaft down to get to 140 – speak to tf tuned I’m not sure whether you can actually cut down the dpa shafts successfully.
