Anyone know if the below will fit a Roadrat? Have discs on it currently, but thinking of nicking them for another build. I know NOTHING about v-brakes.

That’s a caliper brake, I think your frame and fork are designed for v’s or canti’s. What levers are you running?

Have hydraulic discs at the monent, so levers & calipers would be going, to be replaced by a Mary or similar bar, with new levers & calipers.

Have used a few different setups on mine. The most long lived are Avid BB7 disc calipers and some deore v brake levers on a set of Fleegle bars.

The bend is less severe than the Mary but still very comfortable allowing your hands plenty of control out wide or a more aero/forward position that is not ridiculously close to the stem. Didn’t get on with Mary bars as they just limited lock and made the front a bit unpredictable.

The thing to look for with levers is something that does not have an allen bolt on the back, the deores don’t unlike the avids linked to above. that way it’s actually fairly comfy riding on road with your hands restng on them. You are a bit more inboard but still able to brake efficiently.

you can fit caliper brakes, I have but they have to be the extra long reach tektro’s either the R556 or R559’s.

I think CRC Have the 556’s in. Then you will need the shimano levers that are made especially for the caliper brakes.

here’s mine with them fitted (using sti’s)
