I’ve just acquired a new set of wheels to replace my mavic aksyium race wheelset.

Question is should I fit the aksyiums to my wife’s bike a trek madone 3.1, here’s a link to the spec…

Can’t work out if the mavics would be better than the bontrager set on there? Or should I just sell the aksyiums?

    Thanks for any advice…

The Askiums are a good solid wheel. Weigh the Bontagers if their heavier fit The Askiums. I had a pair and they went between road and cross bikes for years.

Thanks taxi25 – Front bonty is 40grams heavier with tyres fitted to both.

    Both have bladed spokes…

Just can’t get any info on the bontragers??

I could understand the question if you didn’t already have the wheels to hand. Couldn’t you just put them on the bike and see whether she prefers them?

to be brutal, they are both crap* wheels so i would’t get hung up on it.

*crap might be a bit strong, but they are nothing special. If you want to do something meaningful, fit good tyres

    Fair points….

Just wanted to know if there was an obvious difference or a crapper one.
