Shimano RS61…Ive got a set of these almost worn out now but have been quite happy…or Fulcrum Racing 5. Superstar ones are just in budget with the current discount. Anything I’m missing?.. I know I should spend more but, I’m skint :-(..

For £160 you can have my Fulcrum Racing Quattro just 7 miles old including Continental Continental GP4000s II also just 7 miles old. Same as these ones on Merlin

    Askiums from Decathlon £130ish

Aksiums are not the lightest under £200 but I’ve had three sets all trouble free whilst friends with Fulcrums and Zondas etc seem to need constant attention.

My Fulcrum 7 have been faultless, but so have my Aksiums, Shimano RS61 and my current DT Swiss Splines. It’s getting difficult to buy bad products even at the budget end IMHO.

Teadrinker, those look a great buy for someone, not sure I want deep section wheels though. I’ll look at Aksiums… I have DT swiss on 2 mountain bikes and they’ve been great, tough and reliable. I would probably go for them on the road bike if could find any in budget. Cheers all

Campag sciroccos can be had for about £165 and are really good , I just bought a set last friday . Vento’s are even cheaper and were better than Aksiums in my opinion.

You might just scrape into superstarcomponents range as they are offering 15% off in August using EMAILWHEELAUG
