Been running a set of diamantes since last summer. Sadly the cotton is showing through on the rear now, so went to planet x to get a new pair for the bargain price of £28 and was saddened to see that the 25mm are no longer available anywhere! For me, they ticked the boxes – light, never punctured and were cheap.

Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives? I’m resigned to paying a little more. Paves?

Have a look at the twin pack deals on Ribble, you can pick up something nice for £50 or so a pair. Conti GP4000s always get good reviews as do Schwalbe One’s and Vittoria Open Corsa. I’d choose the latter of those 3 but they’re all damn fine tyres.

Cheers. The corsas are 56 and possibly cheaper in a local shop here. I’ll pop in there tomorrow and take a look.
