Looking for some ideas for a summer trip to the Alps with a few cycling buddies.

Am after a catered Chalet with a bike guide for a group of 5-10 with varying abilities. Would be nice to be near somewhere with one of the classic climbs. Probably can only stretch to 4 days, not a full week.

    Any ideas?

AQR are starting doing road holidays this year in the Pyrenees. great food and accomodation and they’ve got the Potillon, the Port de Balleres, the Superbagnere and the Peyrsourde all right on the doorstep.

One candidate for a hub would be in/around Bourg d’Oisans, that way you could climb the Glandon, Croix de Fer, Alp d’Hues, Galibier, Telegraph etc. Big climbs though, so would depend on what you fancied.

There’s a lovely village just up the road called Venosc. We stayed there for the Marmotte.

We are going here in July http://www.pyractif.com/. Went last year and did the ‘Epic Cols’ which was great.

You really won’t need a guide unless you cant follow your nose or read a map, take a look at http://www.kingofthemountains.co.uk/ really nice place and Guy and Helyn are excellent hosts.

Perfectly situated for Alpe d’Huez, Glandon, Deux Alpes and hosts of other smaller but really good climbs
