Is this quite a common occurrence? The bolt and/or the recessed nut in the brake were too short for the hole in the fork. It’s a Shimano 105 brake and an Alpina carbon fork. I’ve ordered a longer recessed but for a fiver (Wheels Manufacturing from Singletrack Bikes) so I guess it’ll be fine, but a bit of a faff….

There are many length nuts normally included with a new brake for this very reason.

Happens all the time. Fiver sounds a bit steep, sort of thing good lbs would have in their s/h give out to customers free box.

Ah. This is a bit annoying. The brake came unboxed and with only one choice of nut. It was reduced, but it would have been good to know a bit more about what I was buying. CRC in case anyone is interested.
