Yup, as nbt says, it’s fine. Don’t know about San Marino descent (probably a few more giant ruts), and don’t even consider Great Hill/White Coppice area, but ICR, Kennels, Pike, Japanese Gardens were all perfectly rideable. MrsB rode up the east side of the reservoirs to Healey Nabb, and said it was ace.

Has anyone got any fairly lengthy GPS maps that link the best bits of this area up. I’ve only ever walked round there and that San Marino descent looks half decent. Something 35k and up would be good. Email in my profile-thanks.

It is quite wet up there. Rivi and winter hill aren’t too bad but white coppice and healy nab are just wet and miserable

How long did it take you to ride that one? Pretty glad i couldn’t make it – not sure i would’ve been able to do it! (all i can hear now is “women! Know your limits!”)
    Good on ya though! 🙂

You’re welcome to try and decipher any of these. Most of them start at my house though.

Here’s one I did from Belmont on Wed last week, not massive distance but takes in most of the best descents and youre pretty much always going up or down.

3/4 towers is a good alldayer, prefer to chuck in winter hill, shame to miss it as you’re passing by. Loads of variations too, weak link has always been darwen to crowthorne tho, I’ve got a couple routes, I’ve tried lowey’s and one of mr sparkle’s, not 100% happy with any of them TBH. only a minor negative tho.

From Darwen to Turton moor, down to Cadshaw (this is a good run)- strawberry duck and then a short rd & bridleway upto crowthorns rd. not too bad
