    🙁

Never really watched Minder but always remember him as Flash Harry from St Trinians.

    Oh nos! More celeb worship!

My family watched Minder every week. RIP old fella.

I thought he died years ago!
Wasn’t his last TV thing playing a dying old man? Maybe that’s why.

    Minder? shite.

Maybe, but it was better than the shite on the other channels 😀
I did prefer the early series when his Minder was a bit more hands-on.

Bless ‘im – still 90 isn’t a bad innings for anyone!

I might be one of the few people in the world who preferred Minder to Only Fools – this I think was in part due to the Minder Computer game in the C64!

Root into Europe was good too.

Minder was very subtle humour, St Trinians not so. I can understand how someone can get one but not the other.

I liked Minder and George Cole, the name Arthur Daley became part of popular culture. 90 years old well done, thanks for all the laughs and rest in peace

I liked Minder as a kid but ‘Root Into Europe’ was the thing I enjoyed most I think:

Will post here as my thread is lost 😀
I loved minder, that and fools were essential viewing as a kid.

Was not a big fan of the ray Daley years at the time but since seen them all repeated on the tellybox.
The very last episode was very funny and sad, ending with a recorded personal message from George thanking the viewers.

The people who I loved as a child are slowing shuffling off, very sad.
    Delboy will be next.

I went to the same school as his son. Living in the sticks, there were 4 families from my village that went to the school so we shared lifts on a rota (it was too far away to walk or cycle, and we were kids OK!!!!)

Most days when it was their turn it was his mum Penny (Morrell, also an actress) who’d do the school run but occasionally George would pull up in his Jag, looking identical to the character off the tv. Nice man.

RIP George; condolences to Toby, Tara and Penny particularly, I read an article about them fairly recently that said they were still utterly devoted to each other after 46 years of marriage, in contrast to the image of Arthur and ‘er indoors…

Indeed, I didn’t get Minder at all.

    Good actor though.

I enjoyed the early Minder, the character of Arthur Daley became a bit of a phenomenon. Car stickers, using the name in everyday language.

    Great character actor. RIP

Minder wasn’t just about Arthur Daley, for me the highlight of an episode was when DS Chisholm appeared.

The interaction between the two was genius imo.
