Probably there’s lots of countries that do it better than the UK and lots that do it worse. Something is definitely wrong where men are concerned though.
Looking at the WHO list on wikipedia it appears the UK is actually one of the better places to be regarding suicide rates (123 out of 183 countries listed). It didn’t surprise me at all to see that Ireland was 63rd on the list.
