Give it a few days at least for the sake of decency. They may as well have interviewed Brucie himself to ask him how he felt about his death.
Eh? It’s a tribute, they’re not slagging him off. It seems a bizarre thing to get upset about, and I don’t see how waiting a few days makes the slightest difference.
What’s decent about waiting a few days? Genuinely baffled now. If you watched it and found it trite then fair enough, but how would that have changed if they’d shown it a week later? Are newspapers held to the same standard with delaying obits?

Not sure “gunning” is the right term, but most media will keep rolling obit material for ageing celebs, royals etc and periodically update them so they have an article ready to go when the inevitable happens.
I believe the Beeb do practice runs of the Queen’s death.
