I’m struggling to find a pair of rigid forks with the following attributes

    – To suit 26″ MTB wheel with standard QR
    – Steel
    – Capable of relatively technical off road riding
    – Adjusted for 100mm suspension frame (about 460-470mm axle to crown?)
    – Mudguard mounts
    – Disc and hopefully v brake mounts

Does anyone know of such a fork? And better still, does anyone have one for sale?

    Cheers

No mudguard mounts, but as good as you’re going to get.

I dont think a 100mm corrected frame needs this length of fork.

Original MTB forks are 400mm, Im pretty sure your’ll only need 440mm max.

420mm if you want quick steering.

440mm is ‘standard’ – equivalent to a sagged 100mm fork.

If you really want a really tall one, pipedream made a proper tall rigid fork. Or the new breed of 29er fork.

    Mudguards can be p-clipped.

Ok cheers, I think Kona P2’s come in 440mm length, hard to find them in stock at the moment though.

Mudguard mounts are a must as it’ll be mainly commuting for the next few months.

    Thanks for the help.

As others have said, 440mm is about equivalent of 100mm fork with sag. I run a 450mm rigid on mine (recommended by Pipedream, the manufacturers of my frame) on a Pipedream Sirius frame designed for 90-130mm forks. Pipedream make their own Infinity fork but I’m running an Orange F8, which is a great fork. Both the Infinity and F8 are disc only I think and I’m pretty sure that the F8 has mudguard mounts.

My Salsa Cromoto’s got threaded eyes for fenders… I’ve got 425 but they do 445 as well which should be plenty long enough in a 26er.

    Great fork.

Keep your eyes open for P2’s. They do pop up every now and again in the classifieds and are worth the wait. My V-brake set have mudguard mounts.

This seems to fit your original spec dont really now how you missed it

    The link

You can see it has mudguard tabs by the dropouts

seems too long to me though
