  • Riding with your dog?
  • katiebbb

    Hello!

My name is Katie and I’m new to this Forum.

I am searching for people who like to ride with their dog in tow to interview for a piece I am writing.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, I would really love to hear from you!

    All the best,
    Katie

Hello Katie, welcome to the forum.

Given who you work for, I’d suggest that disclosure of exactly what this “piece” is and what it’s for is required here.

Also, be aware that Astroturfing is strictly against the forum T&Cs.

Riding with your dog would require a particularly niche adaptation to ones tandem, I think…

Have a look through some of the dog and puppy threads, there are loads.

Lot’s of people offering advice on training, posting photos of their dogs out and about.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!

I’m not *quite* sure on what I have done wrong though…! I wasn’t aware of what astroturfing was until just now having read what Cougar posted, I assure you that no unusual motives are behind my question!

I am just writing about dogs for my blog and I thought it would be an interesting take to look into people who take their dogs out for things like mountain biking or weekends away cycling for fun.

I see a lot of people cycling down the Thames path with their dogs so it got me wondering if people go in for more kind of extreme forms of biking with their pets. So I thought asking on a cycling forum could be a good place to start.

Apologies if I have caused controversy or offence by asking the question, absolutely unintentional I assure you!

Hope that explains a bit better.

    Hi Katie,

A Google search for Trail Dogs will throw up a load of great results.

Also, who do you work for? We are on tenter hooks here 😉

    Oh! Great Idea.

Trail dogs looks brilliant, thanks for the tip funkmasterp!

I work for a small dog food company called Butternut Box 🙂 We make fresh, handmade food for dogs.

I am just researching subjects to write about on the blog and thought this could be a fun idea. Apologies again for any unintended upset caused to forum members.

I have two ‘trail dogs’ in both the running and cycling sense.

In case you’re interested, they eat Millie’s Wolfheart on a daily basis.

Great food, looks similar to yours but we have no reason to change…

    Thank you for the clarification.

You’ve not done anything wrong, my comment was a preemptive strike to ensure it stayed that way. (-: It’s very, very common for folk to start this sort of thread as a first post when in truth it’s a veiled marketing ploy. Such accounts tend to be short-lived as the site offers paid advertising / featured posts and self-promoting threads derail that (and greatly upsets STW’s paying advertisers).

Apologies again for any unintended upset caused to forum members.

I very much doubt that anyone was “upset.” We’re (demonstrably) far better at biting sarcasm TBH.

The dog ruins the bike ride and the bike ruins the dog walk.

We make fresh, handmade food for dogs.

Is that like ‘artisan’ dog food then?

Cos you do know that artisan actually means Ex Tremely Ex Pensive?

Trail dogs? Is that what they’re called when they scoot across the carpet?

I once came up behind some riders with a a “trail dog” I overtook them and the stupid dog ran infront of me for about 5 miles down the trail before the stupid **** realised I wasn’t it’s owner and it was completely and utterly lost, it’s owners completely dropped and stuck in the middle of Dartmoor.

Somebody should invent some sort of tether that the can attach to their animal maybe that clips around it neck so they can keep it under control?
