Im off to Vegas for 6 weeks and rather than end up in a casino all the time Ive got the chance to take my bike.

However do any of you know if there is much riding to be had in the area?

    Cheers

Go biking, even if it’s utter shite, it’ll be better than Las Vegas.

Vegas for 6 weeks??? Went on a tour that was an hour or two riding about a half hour outside of vegas with escape adventures, the young guide shot off from the start, in a group of four that included me (fairly decent rider), my wife, beginner/intermediate, and two older guys who were pretty new to it, end result was riding too fast to keep up with the guide, my wife fell, almost poked her eye out on some spiky plant, cut up her arm, guy was a dick about it, we finished the ride and he wouldn’t even drop us at the hospital, despite the fact her arm still hadn’t stopped bleeding. So please don’t give them your money. As for the riding, it was the cottonwood valley tour, sandy singletrack, nothing too exciting, but as above if you’re there for 6 weeks, i’d want out for a bit.

Any options to get away? Your only 5hours from Sedona and 3 hours from Zion canyon and 2.5 hours from St George.. Utah Mountain Biking guide

Head up to Las Vegas cyclery

They do guided tours with bike into the desert

Absolutely amazing you wouldn’t think it but it is really fantastic. It’s like riding inside an oven whilst watching a john ford cowboy movie in colour

We did the half day but they do full days too

The heat and altitude are challenging but I guarantee you will never ever forget it

Bootleg Canyon MTB Park is just a few miles down the road, there’s a great zip line there too.

Just back from Vegas, Didn’t go cycling but popped into All Mountain Cyclery in Boulder City who were very helpful and do guided rides, etc. I think the bootleg canyon trail starts just down the road from their shop.

I can personally recommend McGhie’s, I did a guided ride through Red Rock Canyon and they were very good.
