I’m trying to plan this year’s mountain bike holiday and am looking at going to the far north west. I don’t know much about the area and have never been so it’d be good to tick off.

Are many of the mountains to the north east of Torridon up to Ullapool doable on a bike? I’ve ridden the standard Torridon trails a few times and fancy doing something a bit more high altitude around there. We’d have a preference for shorter (<20 miles) technical rides to long gentle days in the hills. Or is there more chance of success between Torridon and Fort William?

Alternatively does anyone know where the ride that was on the BBC Bothies programme was? It looked to be somewhere around there on the map they showed. I think I’d be happy to exchange some technical riding for the adventure of doing a bothy ride round there.
