    ive got the wifes grandad up there and he wants me to go and stay a couple of days with him,

    whilst im there i would lke to hook up with some locals and do a couple of days riding to,so whats up that way and how good is it,could anyone make any suggetions on were to go or who could hook me up with someone,

    im thinking march time

    Well, the obvious thing from Millom is Black Combe. You can ride various backways or the road to Swinside stone circle and take the BW to Bootle Fell, then the byway to Bootle and pick up the BW onto the fell at Holegill or Whitbeck (or there is a cheeky short cut from the byway at Fellside. From the top there's an excellent (and very steep) downhill to Whicham and then various ways back to Millom
