Any suggestions for a youth hostel up Highlands way for a couple of decent days natural riding within close proximity to a good pub?

It seems the whisky may have gotten the better of my faculties for tonight; what I’m really looking for are suggestions a couple of ‘epic’ day-long routes that can be accessed from the same starting point. It’s the routes that are key but if they happen to be within relatively close proximity to a good hostel/pub then that’s a bonus.

Aviemore, Braemar (mediocre pubs, great riding)Torridon & Gairloch. YH network is a bit limiting and institutional. Some very good bunkhouses / riding locations in the Highlands if you’re prepared to sniff them out & make the effort on the logistics front. Inverie for example…
