    Hello, I’m off there around Easter time for a family holiday and wondered if the riding was any good? Staying a few miles north of Faro.
    Is it was worth seeking out a bike hire or a day’s guiding and if so do es anybody have any local knowledge or other info / tips to share?

    Ask AQR – they have been doing spring guiding based in Alte for a few years now.

    The riding in Portugal is amazing. Do yourself a favour and head west down the coast 1hr to Lagos. Jim at The Mountain Bike Adventure will be able to assist everything from a family ride along the cliffs or a day of holding on with lift assisted downhill in the Monchique mountains.
