Off to Newquay for the first time, is it worth taking my bike?

Are there any good bits of singletrack, pumptracks, jumps etc?

I would be taking my singlespeed bike.

I took my SS down there a few years ago, it got me away from the wife and kids but the bridleways where pretty sparse and/or overgrown, without a local guide I wouldn't bother again.

GO SURFING – you go to Afan to ride bikes, the Alps in winter to ski/snowboard and Newquay to surf!

Why else would you go there? Other than to join the lagered-up crowds slobbering around Newquay of an evening.

Portreath bike thang is a good 20mins in the car from Newquay. I'd stick to riding waves.

Just stop off and ride Dartmoor on the way there and/or home.

Ride up the road to Bedruthan Steps then hop on the coast path & ride back to Newquay, great bit of riding, not particularly legal tho & possibly deadly if you ride over the edge…
