I’m travelling from Stirling to Fort William on Thursday and don’t know the area at all. Where should we stop off for and couple of hrs riding? 5in trail bikes and competent riders…

If you’re only looking for a couple of hours and not a big all day type of thing, here are a few ideas that are on the way.

Start from Bridge of Orchy (or Victoria Bridge) and ride up Glen Kinglass to Glen Kinglass Lodge, turn round and come back. No massive climbs or descents, but great scenery and some interesting bits of bedrock.

Explore the trails up behind Glencoe Village (see Strava for ideas)

Take a short detour to Kinlochleven, fill your boots. Some great trails could be had in a couple of hours, more challenging descents.

Ride up Glen an Fhiodh from Ballachulish and come back down again. Really good descent, the old Slate quarry is work a look too.

Stop at the top of Glen Ogle and do the Kendrum loop?
