The ridgeway is a possibility but probably not cold enough to freeze mud? What’s it like atm?

conditions in the chilterns are about as bad as it gets. yesterdays ‘snow’ contained a hell of a lot of water for already saturated ground, its icey this morning, but not enough to freeze the mud anywhere where there is shelter.
some local stuff is still passable, but i wont be going near the ridgeway for a while.

Don’t bother. It has to be frozen hard or bone dry for a few days – and its neither of those.

4hr road ride from noon and careful on the shady bits….

Very very not nice currently Streatley > Wantage.

Ground is saturated round Wantage way. Once the snow melts will be like riding on a sponge.

it wont, your wheels wont move, at all.

^been there. couldnt ride so had to get off and push.
then couldnt push as the tyres jammed solid every 10m

carrying a 25lb bike with 25lb of mud stuck to it aint fun.
