  • Rideable mountains in Snowdonia?

    Having done Cadair Idris and the Rangers on Snowdon I am wondering which other big hills are worth doing and that the park authority allows us on in summer in the daytime?

    Because of our rather restrictive rights of way network, there aren’t a lot more. There’s one more which isn’t technically a right of way, but which has a surfaced road to the top which the Parks guys don’t mind you riding, and that’s Drum on the north coast. The peak’s at point ten on this route: Drum mountain and Conwy mountain. That said, it doesn’t really compare to Snowdon or Cadair.

    There’s also the Rhyd Ddu route off Snowdon which I did a month or two ago – thoroughly recommended, but a bit of a different bag to the Ranger path…
