Can anybody recommend something that works well and is reasonably priced?

What are the rear view mirrors that display the image like?

Longer term I want to get a double din stereo with a screen that will support a camera but am after something to fill the gap.

I don’t use one so can’t recommend but in your situation I’d look at a dash cam with a rear view parking camera included

We have them at work they are not great, especially in wet weather as they get clouded up. So I end just not using them.

I got one cheap off ebay, wiring’s a mess but it works fine and wasn’t too hard for cack-handed me to install (would have been easier if my battery hadn’t been **** at the time). Couldn’t drive the van round here without it – well, not safely anyway.

I bought a cheap wired version for my van from eBay. It works well, but I have heard of problems with more sophisticated vehicles having problems with errors on the car management. It was about £25 from memory.

We have one on our camper that works great, it goes over the rear view mirror and shows just like looking into a mirror. It has two cameras so that when in reverse it shows a downward view to ease reversing.

Looks like this one but has a cowl covering the cameras

Thanks for all of the comments.

P20 – have you experienced similar problems to drac in the wet?

It does get covered but you can still make out if somethings is behind you. I just wipe it periodically with a wet thumb as I walk out to it

Customer asked me to fit an e bay/Chinese reverse camera kit, the kit said it wasn’t recommend for modern can bus systems… Anyway I fitted it and it worked perfectly until you started the engine then it was a screen full of grey snow and static!!!
