So, the Reverb can be run without the brakes attached. It’s the brakes that you’ll need the clamp for.
My concern is that you dont think it feels ergonomic. This leads me to believe you have you brakes pointing too far down, the MMX lever should be *almost* level, with a little rise on it, and the end of the brake levers in a straight line from your index fingers.
If you have the brakes pointing downwards too much, you can’t drop your wrists, and you end up pushing down on the bars when going over rough stuff, rather than through.
Going a bit off topic there, but, the matchmakers are designed to make life easier and simpler. So, it points to an issue in set up.
The clamps are about £15 each I think, CRC have some if you search for Avid brake clamp you’ll find one. It’ll look like the one you have on your left brake.
Also…. the MMX lever isn’t really ever going to be as ergonmic to reach as your levers, unless you’re 1×9 or 1×10, and don’t have a left lever, and can replace that lever with an upside down MMX remote 🙂
