Hey y'all, just put some revs on my bike, ones with the 20mm bolt thru. Just a small question – when done up is the lever s'posed to spin around aimlessly or should it be stiff enough not to or have somewhere to 'park'.

    cheers for the help…

No. Its no different really than to a QR lever: hold the nut on the other side and turn the lever clockwise and every so often try and close the lever to see if it's tightening securely…but not to tightly or you could damge the dropout as the wedge bits expand!

Undo lever. Grasp nut at other end of "skewer". Hold, turn lever until lever is harder to close/less spinny.

Use the QR as a lever to tighten up the 20mm axle using the notch (only needs nipping up) in the end.

Then treat the QR like a normal QR, in that you need to wind in the loose nut to get the right tension before closing the lever.

In the maxle case, all the QR is doing is stopping the 20mm through-axle from unscrewing.
