Have some 2008 U-turn dual air revs that have only been lightly.

Had the damper oil leak fixed under warranty last year and have been used lightly since and lately to 130mm.

On winding them down to 100mm at the weekend I noticed a clunk and some up and down play in them when at full extension when climbing. Obviously this is a little bit worrying.

I did have a bit of oil leak out of the U-turn knob when building up the new bike as I left them upside down for too long but it was a tiny amount and only used them twice since.

    Any ideas?

Clunk with U turn is a “feature”. Something to do with manufacturing tolerances. There’s plenty of info about on t’web.

Greasing the u-turn helix might help.

Silkolene RG2, Rock n Roll or similar and on the helix.
