I know there is a dedicated site for this sort of tomfoolery, but if anybody fancies dragging out there old steeds for a jolly over the purbecks, then see the links below.

    Ride Retro Ride
Planning a well organised Retro ride around the Purbeck’s on Sunday the 18th Oct
Looking to do around 20-25 mile of scenic routes including a halfway stop for a pie & Pint at Corfe Castle/Square & Compass.
Aiming for the 10.20am ferry from sandbanks (Plenty of free parking around the peninsula)
Probably returning on the 4pm ferry (weather and beer dependant)
Check out the comments in the link below from a recent visit of new school riders, hopefully this ride should be of similar numbers or more. Loads of guys from our regular Wednesday night Ride will be hoiking out they’re old steeds for the day.
Extra Kudos for dressing the part

I'll bring the Alpinestars along as long as i'm not moving house that day.

Is this still on? Got my old bike in the back of the van. Oh hang on, that sounds a bit dodgy.

Just de-rusted and polished the alpinestars, anyone off here coming along?

Where can i find an 80s cycling jersey in Poole/Bournemouth tomorrow?

Old jerseys can be found in branksome cycles
I will try and make it on a1986 Raleigh USA "mountain tour" (I don't think the term mountainbike had been established in 86) with original sr bear traps and a nice one piece double stem and bar thing.
Dress the part: that will be old jeans, hike boots, a lumber jack shirt and a wooly hat.
If given more notice I would have grown tom ritchey tash.

This went great today, well upto the point that my alpinestars stem cracked itself to extinction. I don't even want to think how long it had been like that before it was spotted, considering what we'd just come down.

Bikes out today included, S-bike, 2 kleins, dekerf, raleigh usa, stumpjumper, 87 marin, orange's, e-stay saracen, my cromega dx and god knows what else. Similar route to STW ride the other week.

    Photos on retrobike forum.
