Right – I’d like to try a 29er singlespeed to see if its for me. Calling upon the STW community to help 🙂

    Ideally,

    Ti frame
    daft light build
rigid fork – big front tyre
    size: medium
    Surrey/south east area.

will gladly bung a few quid to a charity of your choice, as I’ll put some money to STW towers too

I’m NOT after buying one right now so please no selling responses!

    thanks 🙂

A few Jones ti’s around the SE, people seem to love em or hate em, dunno if it’s the kind of thing you’re interested in.

thanks Jameso. I know one owner at least – not sure its a 29er though..

Just wanting to see if a light 29er in s/s mode would work for me so not wedded to Ti frames..
    anyone else?

Got a medium Salsa Selma in pretty much the required configuration – but you’ll need to get to the Isle of Wight if you want to try it out.

Still, a bit nearer than Glasgow/the Midlands.

You can borrow Pennywise if you want, just lock the fork out and leave it in one gear.

I do have a rigid fork for the XC bike, if you cba to install it, then revert it afterwards, you can try it.

I also have a riding buddy who frequents here who has an Inbred 29er SS with a Swift steel fork.

ps fundamentalist SSers will tell you running boing isn’t straight-edge, but I think it works quite well. On any kind of technical climb I find it’s better to have boing than get stalled on roots and so on.

    Cheers Matt, much obliged.

    I ride 26 s/s (with boing)and agree its helpful.

    Thanks everyone for the offers

I swung a leg over Mings ridiculous carbon cheating bike yesterday. Its a Trek Superfly of some description and quite amazing. The slightest puff of effort sees you speeding ahead, and that coupled with the bigger wheels means you just don’t seem to slow down either!
