    …without removing the bar tape.

Is it possible? On the verge of taking a sledgehammer to the thing at the moment. I am sure I have done this before and recall there is a sickening right hand turn inside but can’t see how I can make it somehow interface with the ferrule when I can’t even see the hole it’s meant to go through other than what is visible from the outside of the housing.

The bar tape is nowhere near needing replacing and any efforts to remove bar tape seems to end in tears when I do it (ie. it rips) so if I can avoid doing so I’d prefer it.

Is there a secret compartment I can remove to make it all become clear?

    Thanks! 😀

Succeeded. Too late to delete the post now.

Turns out patience is about the best element of the method. Who knew!?
