    Hi Guys
Apologies if this is a silly question but I'm wondering if you can replace one brake and keep the other? My rear brake is knackered, front one seems ok. Can I just replace the rear brake and if I do, do I have to have the same brakes, or could I say have a Hayes on the rear and a Shimano on the front.
    Cheers in advance for replies.

Also, anyone got any good, cheap disc brakes for sale?

Yes you can run whatever you like on the back. No it doesn't have to match though the fashion police might arrest you 🙂

Classifieds usually has plenty of cheap ones going. Or post a wanted.

Are you really sure it's knackered though – might just need new pads/cleaning/bleeding.

Have a run a mix of Hope M4 and Avid Juicy on my Inbred for a couple of years. Apart from the wildly differing power, absolutely no problems. The whole bike is made up of a jumble of spares that I had at the time, poor confused thing it is.

Thanks guys. Mix and match it is for me!
Yeah, it really is knackered, just had the bike serviced and the guy said might be best to replace it. It's a bit of a basic brake too.
Right, that's me off to the classifieds. 😀
