I need to replace the outer chainring on a road bike. It is a 53t Dura-Ace, and I think it is 7800. Fortunately, there is one on ebay right now, but it looks slightly different to the one I want to replace.

As long as it is a 5-bolt, 53t Dura-Ace chainring, will it matter if it is not exactly the same as the one I am replacing?

If the BCD and number of holes are right then the only potential problem I can think of is that the profile around the arm tabs doesn’t match (so you get a step from arm to ring), but it wouldn’t matter for function.
