How would you cut it so it’ll fit?

With a circular saw with a guide or a panel saw.

    The good old 6ft v 1800mm conundrum?
If you do as ernie says, check for fixings either side in the end trim and also check it (the end trim) will still be wide/strong enough once half an inch is removed.
Otherwise remove end trim, renail in correct position then cut down excess sticking through using end trim as a guide.

As above ,presuming it is an overlap panel.
Until you get tired of replacing panels every year and you replace it with close board fence with concrete posts.
Mine was stronger than many local flood defences!
I don’t live there any more, but pass occasionally to see my work still there after 20 years!

Move all the fence posts 1/2 inch along, simples.
Or if its a wavey lap panel then trim 1/2 inch off top and bottom rails, prise side rails appart and reattach 1/2 inch in, remove excess with hand saw.

    Or what Wrightyson said.
