Gutted – the wire on my Seinheiser headphones has broken right by the jack plug. Not wanting to fork out for a new pair of headphones and had assumed I could just get a new jack plug – but I can’t find one on the usual places (Amazon/Ebay/Maplin).

So – is it possible to buy one and fix it myself or is it time to fork out on a new pair of headphones?

EBay, look for Neutrik Rean 3.5mm headphone jack. You’ll need a soldering iron, solder and a steady hand.

The problem I’ve found with the Rean is that it is a bit large and won’t fit into some devices e.g. phone/ipad if they have a cover one. Not the connector itself of course, it’s the body that is the problem

Sennheiser do complete replacement cables which might be a better idea, assuming of course that you have one of the newer headphones where the cable is replaceable eg.
    replacement cable

otherwise the Rean is a nice connector
