No Gaffer tape doesn’t work in this application. I tried and ended up with one wet foot.

Go to fishing shop and ask for Stormsure, its a flexible polyurethane sealant for boots, waders, rubber boats and all sorts of things.

Spend £200 on some new ones and you’ll be sorted ©STWMiddleclassMugsinc.

Mine were less than half that, not much more than a fancy pair of Nikes would cost.
If the hole/split can’t be fixed, get some Muckboots, good, solid and dead comfy.

Stormsure certainly used to be the defacto choice

“wellies” 🙄 – how can you look a proper **** in mere wellies ?

I used a big puncture repair patch and got another year out of them before it eventually failed

I got mocked by the OH for patching my dunlops with a tyre patch 🙁

I now have some fancy wellies but they are not as comfy as my old dunlops. They are warmer though.

I repealed the back of some waders with rubber solution and an inner tube about 5 years ago, still going strong

Stormsure or other seam sealant is great on the inside of tubeless tyres to mend cuts. Keeps for years in the freezer.

So how come no one has mentioned “hot knifeing”? Clean the area around the hole/crack,heat an old kitchen knife up until it is red hot and quickly smooth over the hole. I have mended wellies, washing up bowls and the likes for years this way and have had many more years of use out of them.
