  • Renting a flat – insurance and bike storage

We are looking at renting a flat for 6 months due to relocation. Contents of our house will be going into storage except clothes, some basic camping kit and decided to keep cx (for commuting and exploring) and full sus with us (have checked we can keep them in the flat). We have rented long term houses in the past, but never a flat and looking to just rent for 6 months. Couple of questions:

    – What 6 month insurance do people use? Wondering about getting cx covered with tenant content insurance and taking out separate bike instance for high value full sus’s. Had a brief look at Wiggle.

    – Think we’ll just leave cx in hallway of flat as will be used daily, but looking for some way of storing full sus in spare room without damaging flat or leaving mud about. Anyone any suggestions? Looked at ONeal bike bags (which look like a sock for your bike) with something to protect bars on the walls?

    Many thanks.

For storing the bike, just use a mattress bag, then do a thorough clean when you leave for tyre marks etc.

Not sure on 6month insurance though
