IS 52 cartridge bearing as the lower headset part of a Canyon Nerve has disintegrated leaving just the outer metal ring of the bearing in the interference fit cup on the lower headset.

There is so little overlap (when viewed from above) that I can’t get anything to sit on the bearing to give it some gentle persuasion to remove it, and prising it from the bottom seems like a bad idea.

I’ve left it soaking in GT85 but don’t seem to be making any progress.

    Other than LBS, any suggestions?

Is it a separate cup or is the bearing process seed directly into the frame?

I think its an integrated cup with an interference fit bearing into the cups. Not sure whether it is technically “pressed” or just a snug fit. I hadn’t planned on doing much with it but the bearing came apart when I cleaned it up, so simply expected to be able to extract the old bearing and get the new one in place.

I’ve no experience with this sort of headset though.
