I have just bought my wife a Specialized Dolce elite. I want to swap the stem over for a shorter reach. The bars are shimmed from 26mm to 31.8 mm with a specialized shim. It has rubber underneath it and i think its part of the womens specific design stuff. I tried removing it last night and it wouldnt budge.

Has anyone removed one before, and how do i do it?
