    Hi going to be removing lefty fork tomorrow for the 1st.time it’s has a normal stem not the opi one so I take it I just losen fork bolts remove stem and whack the steerer out? Any tips or tricks

    Cannondale Lefty Stem/Steerer Install/Removal Tool "Ernie" KT020

    You can borrow mine if you are Glos/Wilts based .

    How does that work, can’t I just use a rubber mallet to tap steerer back in

    For putting it back in yes, the Ernie is for getting it outt .

    Trust me it makes the job so simple .

    Em…no. Ernie seems to be strictly for the OPI stems. Normal/conversion steerers need to be hit with a hammer from the top to free the compression ring (after undoing both allen bolts on the fork clamps, of course).
