So I removed the stickers on a set of Bontrager Ranger wheels, but they’ve left behind a sticky residue. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? I’ve scrubbed it with degreaser to no avail. This has me puzzled.

WD40 or GT85 will get it off, Something to do with the propellant in the can iirc.

IPA/ethanol/vodka/wd40/GT85 etc etc. Warm soapy water will do it but not as well.

do not use this if your wheels, or anything else are painted instead of anodized. The active ingredient is acetone and it will eat paint and any plastics and rubbers.

    IPA is pretty safe.

Always useful to have some Isopropyl about, electrical contact cleaner is another name it goes under. Should be able to find it in spray cans in b&q or similar

I was doing this yesterday! GT85 isn’t sufficient. I found the best thing was white spirit, applied liberally, and use a rough cloth – I used a flannel, to actually wipe it away. Took about 15mins to do the wheel

As jonk says, the very aptly named sticky stuff remover. Effective and as far as I’ve ever found, harmless.
