    Hi all,

My mate did the Relentless 24 (solo) last year and we’re both considering doing 10 Under The Ben this year. Just wondering how the events compare? As 10UTB is shorter, is it more competitive? Do more people do it?

How do the courses compare? Is 10UTB more technical? Climbing? Descending?

    Ta, Duane.

    Hi Duane,

Haven’t done Relentless, but the 10UTB certainly isn’t over competitive. There is a good spread of speeds and abilities.

10UTB is definitely more technical. They use freshly cut (read muddy slashes) bits of new trail to spice things up. These are often either pretty steep, boggy or both

Relentless (last time I did it anyway) used fireroad and existing hardpacked trail and avoided the more technical sections of singletrack.

Both laps are around the 9-10mile mark with similar amounts of descending and climbing but the 10UTB sometimes use shorter steeper sections for climbing

Pairs is where the competition is in the 10s too, as anyone fit wants a decent amount of riding. Sometimes a few fast trios, but quads tend to be slower as it’s pretty casual in a quad.
