Just watched the Red riding trilogy today. Thought it was ace. You had to concentrate and it kept me guessing until the end..

Has anybody read all 4 of the books? Would it have been easier to follow knowing what happened in the missing part?

How corrupt were the West Yorkshire police ? And was any of the ripper stuff correct and if the corruption was happening what books should I read for more info,

The Red Riding Quartet are excellent and I thought the TV adaptation was pretty good but as tri-episodes it shoe-horns the books together and consequently fails to capture their full depth and complexity.

It say’s it’s ‘based on real events’, but I think the plot threads are an amalgam of various true cases – such as the murder of Lesley Molseed.

Sean Harris was superb as the extremely menacing D/Supt Bob Craven. Aye, a raight nasteh ba’sted!
