I’ve been through my shed yesterday and discovered just how many worn out tyres and tubes I have laying about.

I feel some serious eco-guilt putting them all in the black bin, does anyone know where I can send them to be recycled or repurposed?

I’ve got loads of tubes that I want rid of so I’d be interested in this too

there’s a tyres recycling cage at my local tip. I usually just take old bike tyres along there when I’m going past.

Of they are not worn bald then maybe a local bike recycling charity can make use of them. Pretty sure I have seen a project in our area that resurrects bikes to teach youngsters some mechanical skills and give them some transport

I read up on this last year as I had a small stack of old tyres. What I found was that bike tyres are too small an amount of rubber compared to the cost of recycling per tyre, so hardly anyone bothers. The official advice is to cut them up and shove them in your black bin :/

    Probably worth asking your LBS.
