  • Recuperating at home – Day time TV – WHY?

So, I had an interesting op and I’m convalescing at home.

I decided to pop the telly on to see if there was anything worth watching and day time TV really is the biggest load of rubbish ever.

If it’s not chavs having paternity tests, it’s never ending programs about morons buying/decorating/cleaning houses.

    There really is NOTHING on.

I fear the XBox is going to get some abuse over the next two weeks if this is all my licence fee has in store.

Knowing that a lot of people on here are work shy layabouts – what do you do with your days?

Unless the operation was on your penis, home alone on a school day…shouldn’t you be masturbating?

Do as the 2nd half of your nom de plume would suggest.
It’s what the internet was made for.

    Never!

NEVER turn the tv on during the day.

    SAVE YOUR SELF!!!!

some abuse over the next two weeks

just be honest with yourself, it’ll make dealing with the feelings of worthlessness and self loathing you’ll be feeling as you are beating yourself up in the company little room a fortnight from now.

Just finished 9 months off sick after a very interesting operation & radiotherapy. Morning daytime TV shite, stay in bed. Afternoon can get better as the Sky TV documentary channels kick in. TBH I’ve Sky + a lot of things that Mrs MFL won’t watch with me and watched those at times.

DVD box sets are also useful, watched one called Psych, £5 on Amazon, about a fake psychic who solves crimes through sheer luck. For a fiver it was better than some of the mind bendingingly numb TV shite.

Avoid Jeremy Kyle, if you watch it you will wish to complete your convalesence at work!

My operation was not on my penis but does proclude me from indugling.

I do have lots of books to read, I just thought I’d see what day time TV had in store for me. I mean, it’s a lot of channels for 8 hours I don’t normally have access to – there must be something worth watching. But I was wrong, there’s nowt.

BUT – now I’m annoyed and want to find something worth watching. Some moustachioed knob is currently trying to convince me that car boot sale tat is in fact an antique of some sort.

    It’s all hateful…………

I don’t think its been too bad recently. US sitcoms first thing, then helicopter heroes, homes under the hammer, kirsty and phil, some documentaries on yesterday, until its Rachel Riley time. There has been some good sport on the red button too and a couple of decent old films. There’s back to back top gear and 5th gear if that is your thing, too.

I had a hernia op on wednesday so stuck in the house for a couple of weeks as well. Desperately trying to avoid turning on the telly but I’m rapidly running out of options…and money…have already managed to convince myself to spend >£300 on some new bike lights. Time off + internet = expensive.

I could easily fill a day with a combination of iplayer etc, the ‘net, Sky+, sports, movies, box sets and PS3. Easily.

You need a little searching around the freeview channels. Endless reruns of topgear on dave, endless antique roadshow on yesterday and so on.

I’m bored of forums, gaming and porn already!

I’m now exciting my day by arranging my medications and deciding when to walk to Tesco to buy some Mr Muscle sink unblocker.

    Yes, I am that bored.

you lucky sh1t – new Call of Duty out next week. Use all the pent up rage from watching ‘Antiques in your back passage’ or whatever to knock seven bells of sh1te out of some young American upstarts online next week….

when I was off work a few years back it was watching Jeremy Kyle that sent me back to work. I think his programme is a government sponsored conspiracy to prevent malingering

Yeah, the guitar is a good idea. I could use some practice.

I’ve just walked to Tesco and brought a bottle of scotch and some Soreen Malt loaf. My day has improved.

Been stocking up on box sets of BlueRay & DVDs ready for my double hernia Op in November, that and sort out the porn collection on my laptop 😉

I don’t really like much on TV at all to be honest so box sets aren’t going to help.

Perhaps I should get rid of my telly – LOL!!!!

Ah well much of the boxed sets I have bought are old stuff like The World at War, Only new stuff I have is Coast & Band of brothers
