    suggest me something for recording lengthy meetings that are webcasted – preference is windows 7 – public domain stuff not bothered on image quality or editing more audio and being able to go back and work out who said what – don’t mind paying if it is reliable/easy

    Loom (Chrome plugin) will do the trick.

    Jing is excellent and free, but limited to 5 mins I think.

    FTR I use Camtasia for captures and video production.

    Can’t you just ask for a copy from whoever hosts it?
