If there are climbing timed sections, something that you can climb on as you’ll gain far more time than you’ll lose on the descent.

The whole point of Enduro racing is that you get timed ONLY on the descent.. however there is a time limit in the transition stage to get to the start of the next descent…generally you can ride this at a steady pace so your bike needs to be light enough to pedal but set up for the descending.

I ride a np mega for guiding, racing etc.. and the long wheeelbase and slack angles means its a mini DH bike…the steep seat tube though pushes your weight forward for efficient climbing…. The perfect enduro bike and the pro model is amazing VFM and there is NOTHING you need to change.

but it is also very common for stages to have flat and/or up sections in the middle of them.

NP Mega is too much of a mini-DH bike to be the perfect Enduro bike imo.

I have only raced the italain and french enduros, so I guess are a little different to thee uk trail centre based ones..

a team i know who use ibis mojos use angle sets, offset bushes and all sorts to get their bikes to descend better

I’m getting a norco range 2013 with is 650b to race a couple of gravity enduros next year. Anything with 150-160 travel should be ok. The only way to find what you like is to ride a few no 2 people are shaped the same and no 2 people ride the same so what someone else like you might not.

How many single pivot bikes do you see in the top 10 in pro DH..

Tell me do you see Orange there?

Yer half right…the rider obviously has massive input.. 🙄

But my point still stands – any single pivot bikes in the top 10?……

More importantly, how many were in the major Enduro top tens? Including single-pivots with a linkage driving the shock

I bet single pivots have won more races than any other design. Think of all Peats wins on the Orange, Gee’s on the Commencal and the Trek and Honda wins. Well it’d be close anyway.

It’s a long list 130-170mm bikes really that pedal well but can take the hits. The better you are the lighter you can go. Rider still more important though.

Surely there’s a few enduro & dh wins from the DoH – they’ll all on orange 5/patriots……. I think

I think thats mainly talent 🙂 not that many wins i think though, a quick scan through some GE’s from 2012 shows Ibis (CCA) Cannondale (Clemantz) and a few others. However CCA was on a Lapiere the year before and still beating nearly everyone.

Meta 6 did pretty well with Absalon on top.
And the new meta range too…

Affy on the GT came third in the mega….
