IMO Salomon speedcross wouldn't be suitable for rocky terrain of 3 peaks. Over moorland and softground, then great, but the sole is too lightweight for any hard surfaces. Nice and light though
Aye, you're probably right there.

Wrong 3 peaks pieface. The 3 peaks fell run is the 3 Yorkshire peaks and is on the 1st of May. The OP is on about the 3 national peaks with lots and lots of driving inbetween.
I thought that to even get into the 3 peaks you had to have had some success in fell running races so am surprised you're asking here
Not necessarily but you have to have some provable form over some surfaces.
Is there a barefoot three peaks?
I'm using Salomon SpeedCross quite a lot and have spent 28 hours in a pair and they were fine. Fantastic tread for offroad stuff.
I had a pair of Salamon XA Pro 3D ultra's, really good grip but on reflection quite heavy, more a multi activity shoe than trail running.
Followed those with Innov8 Roclite 295's, amazing grip even in sloppier loose conditions, less support as may have been mentioned but a lot lighter than the Salomon's.
Just bought some Adidas Kanadia 3's on the basis of a good review in a triathlon magazine. Had one run so far, seem half way betwen the Salomon and the Inov8. Did notice they got quite sweaty though.
